Influencing Afghan Culture Through Barbie

Growing up in North America it was an Afghan girl's biggest wish to have a Barbie Doll that resembles her own culture.

The desire for a Barbie doll that resonates with Afghan culture inspired Zarhin Kali to create Afghan dresses for Barbie dolls. These vibrant dresses, which we cherish and have worn with pride, are designed specifically for the Fashionista line by Barbie, promoting inclusivity. We wanted to contribute to this inclusivity by crafting unique Barbie doll dresses that beautifully complement the Fashionista dolls.

Not only did we decide on bringing childhood wishes to life, but our mission is to create innovative products to help Afghan culture live. With the world constantly changing and influencing our children to live with the modern times of American culture, it is crucial we teach our children what it means to be Afghan.

This isn’t the first time we’ve created products for Afghan children; Zarhin Kali has also launched Build-A-Bear clothing for both boys and girls, further expanding our cultural influence.
