To begin you’ll need to straighten out the metal curve at the top of the headpiece. If there’s a chain instead, undo one of the hooks.

Then pull the metal piece through one of the holes in the extension clip, making sure the bristles of the clip are at the bottom and then clamp the pieces together with the plier.
